First Step

Once we got to the park, we didn't immediately started filming. We scouted for an area to film. Rose ended up going the long way around the park and we followed. We complained because it was extremely hot out. Then we found out that the area we filmed in last time was taken. Then for some reason we looped back around the long way to where we started. We set up at the area under the over hang and metal benches. Vanessa set up her laptop and pulled up our script and story board. Since we haven't worked on the project for awhile, we forgot some things about it. We only remembered the main theme and genre. Rose especially had to reread the script. After discussing the materials and making sure everyone understood it, we had to decide whose phone will be used. The competition was between my phone and Vanessa's iPhone, Rose was instantly disqualified since her phone is the worse. My phone somehow ended up winning. So we used mine to film. My poor phone was suffering from filming and giving Vanessa's my hotspot. It was also my first time using my phones camera to film. Apparently for my phone, you have to click the recording button twice to get it to stop filming. It took me a while to figure this out. My camera quality is surprisingly good.

This is the type of phone, I have.

Parks

Me and my group members did do our plan! Remember how I spoke about filming on our half day? We managed to actually do it. All three of us had enough time to film. We decided to be easy on ourselves and went to the park down the street. Fun Fact; this is the same park we filmed our music video in! This park was not what I had originally thought of when we decided to do thriller. I had originally thought of doing the filming in a different kind of park. What I mean is the type of parks that is just a big patch a tree and a dirt pat. I still believe that would be better. I think those parks would have given our film a better atmosphere. I also wanted to film at night. I think it would have been cooler. Yet it would have made everything ten times harder. The lighting would have been hard to control. Not to mention how both Rose and Vanessa would be extremely uncomfortable. It probably was best for us to just stay in our comfort zone. Plus the park is near the school which mean our usual dismissal area was near by. Which was especially useful for Rose. This park has been extremely useful this school year.

Ideas and meeting up

It is the fourth quarter finally. This means that our project's due date is coming up quick. We need to start working on it some more. I came up with the plan to film on our schools psd day. I am still talking it over with my group members. So far, the plan seems to work out. I don't have anything planned for that day. Vanessa said she believes she doesn't have anything either. Rose is currently thinking it over but she seems down to work for that day. I actually came up with this idea with her in mind. Since she has to pick up her brother after school, she can't really work on the assignment after a normal school day so this will give her time to do so and still pick up her brother. It will also work out for all of us in general. None of us want to work on the task during the weekends. Plus on the psd day we all will be there so no need to plan for regrouping. I haven't thought of a location. We could go to the park where we filmed our last task but I feel like that won't fit our genre. The park is too spread apart it would be better if we found a patch of trees. This project is very important. We will work hard on the task. We will get a good grade.

Not the rain!

The thing about Florida is that the weather is strange. One second the sun shines. The next, storm clouds crowd the sky. Today the weather decided to be gloomy. Cold rain pour down from the sky. The rain set us up for failure. The rain made it impossible to film. None of us wanted to get wet. Besides even if no one had mind getting wet, the wetness would have made filming unsafe. Our final task involves a lot of running and the rain made it too slippery. We don't want anyone to get hurt. Unfortunately, we can not change the weather. This set of events left me quite upset. I wanted to get at least half done today. Yet now it will take even longer to finish this assignment. I just want to finish the task in a timely manner. I need more time to focus on my other classes. I need time to study for my exams which is hard while taking this class. I constantly have to worry about when we'll film and where. Not to mention the blogs that seem to be so close to each other.

Production Blog for Final task

This class has become so stressful. While it is easier then my other classes, the dates are still very busy. It feels like everything is back to back. This class first started off as a class where I could mostly relax. It's not anymore. Now I find myself checking and rechecking dates. It's so awful how after we go on winter break we are always treated with crunch time. Not to mention the teachers begin to drill the fact that we have tests into our brain everyday. Classes become a drag. This class is no exception. We have begun the final project which has been nothing but work. There were weeks where we had three blogs due on top of all of our other work form other classes. The assignments for this class has begun to raise in difficulty. For instance, in a blog we had to watch a movie to get elements of a genre. This blog was very hard for me because it was hard to focus. Now we are to begin filming. Unfortunately, it is very hard to figure out a set location. We understand that a park is best for this project but problems keep arising. Someone either lives too far. Or they don't have a ride. Or they simply have no idea where that place is. However we are high school students and we will over come this.

back up blog

When it comes to having a back up plan, we had a few ideas if something stops us and how we as a group can prevent things like it. Let's say we couldn't film due to the rain or any other weather problems. We can try our best to reschedule and get everyone back together again to film. Or maybe change the location to make everything more easier for us. Backups and archiving, disaster recovery, and business continuity are the three components of an effective backup plan. Backups and archiving on a regular basis should be your first line of defense. When data is created or modified, it should be backed up on a regular basis. And we will keep this in mind if we have to consider one. Despite the fact that we might not need one it won't hurt to be safe than sorry. When it comes to safety of our team, that is what we will focus on the most. As we are going to be filming a horror film a horror film in public. A lot of action can be taken out of context. This would be the last thing we wish o happen so we will keep it as PG as we can get. To stay away from any unwanted attention. location has yet to be officially decided and will be soon but I'm sure some will be taken in the park. What does health and safety mean in movies? Each organization has a legal obligation to have a "competent" health and safety person accessible to provide information to management as needed to guarantee a safe and healthy workplace. It is also a legal requirement to conduct risk assessments and safe work systems to ensure that filming takes place in a safe environment. So its important to keep your actors and crewmates in a safe location and guaranteed their safety. But that will be the last of this as I'm sure we were able to get the point across.

Story Board Blog

Within the opening scene of the film is an establishing shot. This establishing shot pans to the right and then tilts up to reveal the 2 characters. Both characters are seen in a medium shot to be in a conservation. As the scene continues the conservation becomes more heated and turns into an argument. The argument is shown through reverse shots which break once the MC runs off.

As the MC is running we get an over the shoulder scene and a reveal of the SC chasing after her. As the chase is revealed suspenseful music begins to play softly. The MC begins to move faster in an eye level angle. As she runs the music gets louder and more intense. Then we get an angle of her hip and down to her foot that transitions into a low angel of her running. As she runs the camera tilts and close up on her face. The sound of her out of breath breathing begins to over power the music.

The music stops and we can only hear her breathing. This allows the sound of a tree branch breaking to be singled out as the camera is set on a low angle to reveal the SC shoes. Then we get an extreme close up of a worried expression on the main character's face. Afterwards we get a long shot of her picking up pace and sprinting as the music returns.

After a while we get the view of the back of her head as she looks out at the scenery. The camera pans around her as we get a shot of her face where her eyes are seen to be looking around her surroundings. Then within a wide shot we see her turn messily. This turn ends up with her falling on the ground. We get a high angle of her sitting sadly on the ground then a close up of her injured hand. After the close up the music stops and only wind can be heard as she stares at her hand. We then receive a POV shot of the area.

Then the back of the SC legs is shown where the watcher is able to see the different shoe. The MC turns their head to the SC as they confront her in a high angle. The MC ends up pushing the SC and dashing away. The film ends with the SC on the ground with an annoyed face.
